VOLUNTEER

Volunteering to Groom

The Eau Claire Ski Striders and the Eau Claire County Parks and Forestry Department are looking at the potential to utilize additional part-time seasonal employees and trained volunteers to groom ski trails at Tower Ridge during the winter cross country ski season, starting in November of 2023.

Individuals with a cross country ski background and/or experience with equipment operation to include snowmobiles, tracked vehicles, ATVs & UTVs, and winter grooming equipment are encouraged to apply and learn more. Training will be provided for all individuals selected.

At this time we’re simply in the stage of gauging what interest and support may be available, but the goal is to establish a team of trained groomers which is large enough to spread out the workload, so no one has to groom more than twice a week.

See what it’s like in action!

Days & Hours

Individuals interested in this opportunity should be willing to help, whenever conditions and temperatures are favorable, to provide safe and quality trails of the best conditions for the users of the Tower Ridge ski area. This may include evening, night, or early morning hours, along with weekends and holidays.

Compensation

This is undetermined at this time and may or may not be available. Individuals who apply should be willing to possibly help without compensation, as volunteers.
